Selection of non-ferrous metals for applications in the Railway Sector

Metals play a key role in the railway sector, especially due to their applications in infrastructure and vehicle construction. Some metals, such as copper, can be used in the electrification of tracks, communication systems and train power supply. It is one of the main elements in the manufacture of electrical cables and components due to its high conductivity. It also has a high thermal conductivity, making it a suitable metal for train heating and cooling systems that improve passenger comfort.

At Bronmental we have a wide selection of copper formats with good conductive properties and corrosion resistance: contact wire, profiles on request, strip and rigid or flexible cable for electrical applications. In addition to this, we have round bar and strip manufactured in the copper alloy CuNi2Si which has a high mechanical resistance and is suitable for a wide variety of applications.
